Journalling for Goddesses

This is a journalling practice for connecting with your Inner Goddess. It is designed to peel back the layers of thinking, feelings and emotions to connect with our Goddess and her wisdom. I always turn to these questions when i’m feeling lost or am feeling off, it allows me to dig deeper past the thinking mind and waves of emotion to bring awareness to the source of my feelings.

There are four parts, Mind, Body, Feelings and Goddess. Answer them in order and allow what ever feeling come up to flow out onto paper in words.

{Mind}

How is your mind feeling today? The mind is often the easiest part of us to connect with as we spend so much in our head, take a moment to sit back and watch your thoughts before answering the this question. Notice what is on your mind, what have you been thinking about and if there is there a continual loop or fantasy that you’re playing or obsessing over.

Given all this what does your mind need from you today? Could your mind benefit from the stillness of meditation, are there stories or thoughts that you need that you need to stop re-living in your mind.

{Body}

How does your body feel today? How would you describe your body today, is there a particular part calling for attention or is there a particular feeling that describes your body today.

What does your body need from you today? How can you best support your body: does it need rest, movement or extra love.

{Feelings}

How does your body feel today? How would you describe your body today, is there a particular part calling for attention or is there a particular feeling that describes your body today.

What does your body need from you today? How can you best support your body: does it need rest, movement or extra love.

{Goddess}

Your Goddess – your heart, your soul, the very essence of YOU. How does She feel today? After peeling back the layers of your body, mind and feelings you might discover that there is something deeper calling you, something that these other aspect of ourselves fail to describe. This is your Goddess. Listen to her, let her share what she is yearning for.

Now ask, what would bring Her joy today? Honouring your Goddess in this way allows you to soften and move forward with a lightness that comes from opening fully in each moment to your truth.

Try using this exercise each day for a week and see what comes up for you. Mornings are the best time as it allows us to connect with ourselves before we begin our day . Each day will look different and remember it’s not about how much you write – sometimes our feeling can be described in just one word.
